On December 17-18, Sejong Institute visited two institutes based in Beijing, and held the "30th Sejong Institute-CICIR Closed-door Joint Meeting." The meeting addressed changes in United States foreign strategy and the implications of the National Security Strategy, the emergence of a multipolar international order and the Global South, the future of United States-China relations including the possibility of President Trump’s visit to China, as well as China-Japan tensions and the Taiwan issue.
