On May 28, Sung-Yoon Lee, Principal Research Fellow, delivered a presentation titled “North Korea’s Strategy and the Deepening North Korea–China–Russia Alignment Following the May 2026 Summit Diplomacy: Focusing on the U.S.–China Summit, China–Russia Summit, South Korea–Japan Summit, and the Prospects for a North Korea–China Summit."

The debate was moderated by Beomchul Shin, Director of Center for Korean Peninsula Strategy at Sejong Institute, and featured discussions by Kyung-joo Jeon, Research Fellow at KIDA, and Peter Ward, Research Fellow at Sejong Institute.
