Over the past 15 years, the Sejong Foundation has dedicated itself to laying groundwork needed to become Korea¡¯s center of research and education, while also providing training for governments, specialists and international leaders. The Foundation has consistently strived to improve both the quality and quantity of its offerings through advanced studies conducted under its research arm called the Sejong Institute, and has succeeded in providing quality public policy analysis to members of government, academia, and the business community in a timely fashion. These accomplishments were made possible by persistent efforts and supports.
The world experienced many changes in 2002, both domestically and abroad. At this critical juncture, the Sejong Foundation aims to uphold its commitment to conduct research based on impartiality and rigor. Since the issues of national security and unification are not confined to inter-Korean relations, the Foundation is currently focused on carrying out policy analysis from a comprehensive, perspective, and facilitating academic seminars and networking in order to deal with such issues as diplomacy, democracy, and human rights.
South Korea is currently faced with several new challenges following the recent changes in the international environment in the areas of diplomacy, security, and unification. The Sejong Foundation is committed to doing its best, based on its expertise and experience, in terms of providing policy alternatives to meet these new challenges.
